Between Eagle and HDS, on purpose
This is a research-synthesis review based on Lowrance’s Elite FS 9 Active Imaging 3-in-1 page (SKU 000-15692-001) and a live Amazon family listing (ASIN B08NPBX9D5). We have not installed this display. Lowrance listed the factory SKU out of stock at $1,099 when checked.
Eagle Eye is live sonar in one box. HDS Live is the full console. Elite FS is the middle: a 9-inch touchscreen with Ethernet, NMEA 2000, C-MAP DISCOVER OnBoard, and a documented path to ActiveTarget 2.
What this SKU actually includes
Lowrance lists Active Imaging 3-in-1 (CHIRP, SideScan, DownScan with FishReveal) on 000-15692-001. ActiveTarget 2 is “ready,” not in the carton. Active Imaging HD needs an S3100 module. Those footnotes matter more than the marketing line.
Amazon’s parent listing covers 7- through 12-inch Elite FS units. A 9-inch Choice-style offer showed $1,079 when we checked. Confirm size and transducer on the buy box.
Where it stops short
If you only want live sonar this season, Eagle Eye is the cleaner purchase. If the helm already has multiple displays and radar in mind, HDS is the line that assumes that job.
